When thinking about Austin, Texas, there are a few things that just make sense: Eating tacos on South Congress. Seeing Matthew McConaughey at the UT football game. Stand up paddleboarding on Lady Bird Lake. Rowing Dock is a quintessential Austin business, and we made sure to pull that through into the design of their new website.
A huge part of the Rowing Dock brand is a pushing the beauty of the natural scenery found on Lady Bird Lake. This makes the photography and videography on the site extremely important. Masonry helped to plan, style, execute and deliver on a multi-day photo and video shoot that captured the true Rowing Dock experience.
Rowing Dock is not the only boat rental company in Austin, but they are the most prestigious. This is down to the quality of the experience. The grounds and boats are pristine, and the staff are well educated and super helpful. We wanted to mirror this with the new website, and this starts with making sure that the foundations are solid. Going through the full process of research, information architecture and wireframes before ever designing a pixel allowed us to have a foundation to build on that will last for years to come.
Remember when we went through a pandemic? That was a thing. And it was really tough on local businesses like Rowing Dock, who had to close their main source of income during this time. We helped them create and push live their online store, which helped drive sales that weren’t there before.
Rowing Dock had great SEO already so a big emphasis was to not lose traction, and if possible increase traffic from organic search. Besides the tangible positive data that has been visible since the site launched, we are also proud that Rowing Dock now has a web presence that mirrors the quality of their physical experience. Go get on the water!
