Where are you from and how did you end up in Austin?
I’m a Texas native from El Paso (El Chuco for all my fellow El Pasoans!). I moved to San Antonio in 2008 where I received a B.A. in English & Communications from U.T.S.A. My first job out of college was a technology sales/marketing job that brought me to Austin, where I immediately fell in love with the street art, food, and all the beautiful weirdos of the city. I felt right at home from day one here!
What is your favorite thing to do in Austin?
The incredible food, local artistic talent, and inimitable culture of the city inspired me to start my local food/lifestyle blog seemefeedmereadme, where I explore and celebrate all the most delicious, unusual, and awe-inspiring corners of Austin!
What generally makes you feel accomplished at the end of the day?
Taking on a new challenge or project that forces me outside my comfort zone and allows me to learn new skills or techniques along the way always makes me feel like I’ve had a productive, successful day. Even if I didn’t necessarily accomplish anything monumental, I still take pride in knowing I gave my all at the end of the day.
What would your dream project be?
My dream project would be one that allows me to lean into the amazing weirdness of Austin. Art, advertising outside-the-lines and “disruptive” marketing are fun and challenging and I believe Austin is the ideal city to take on these unique creative projects. As a bleeding heart for animals (dogs in particular), I’d also love the opportunity to work with more charities and shelters.

Craziest celebrity encounter you’ve ever experienced?
I had the amazing opportunity to attend SXSW in 2017 while I was writing/blogging for VIVA Lifestyle and Travel. During that week, I got to interview and photograph all kinds of actors/actresses, musicians, moguls, and influencers. I sat across the aisle from Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender, and Rooney Mara at the premiere of Song to Song. I interrupted Josh Duhamel in the middle of a private conversation he was having by calling him by his first name (as if we were BFF's) to get his attention then panicking and asking how he liked Austin when he actually acknowledged me (he was a sweetheart about the whole thing.) I yelled “We love you” to Jake Johnson (from New Girl) in the middle of his interview with Thrillist (and he said “I love you too”!!!) And I got to meet Grumpy Cat (RIP) on the VICELAND bus as it was driving around Austin. But, hands down my favorite celebrity encounter was when I spotted Crispin Glover (Back to the Future) on Rainey Street walking into a party. When his manager saw my face light up from across the street he called me over to meet Crispin and get a picture with him before he went inside - I’ve never cheesed so hard in a picture!!! (And, in case you're wondering, Crispin Glover is just as kooky and awesomely awkward as his movie characters.)
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Cheese fries. Because. Cheese. Fries.
