42 Artists to Unveil Unique Works During East Austin Studio Tour
“A drop of water, if it could write out its own history, would explain the universe to us.” – Lucy Larcom
After a challenging year of devastating drought that spanned several months, it's crucial now more than ever that we take time to come back to our origins and appreciate the delicacy and interconnectivity of our lives. Our beautiful city takes care of us, and it’s time we return the favor! Join us for “Life of H2O”, a creative collaboration of 42 Austin artists celebrating the life-giving gifts of water.
Part of the East Austin Studio Tour, The Life of H2O is an aquatic art exhibition exploring and celebrating one of the key centerpieces of all existence on Earth: water. This precious resource holds all the beauty and secrets of nature in a single drop if you know where - and how - to look! With extraordinary works from over 40 local artists, this interactive Austin Studio Tour event is a creative community gathering benefitting our nonprofit partner, Art4Water of The Watershed Association, and their advocating for environmental protection through the lens of art.
With a melange of living masterpieces to explore including a collection of repurposed water vessels that have been delicately hand-painted, guests can take home a one-of-a-kind piece to grow a little piece of life in. Come groove to live music from Jaime Ospina, Sydney Wright, and Soulshine Rhythm Experience while you celebrate our region's beloved bodies of water.
Join TreeGarden and Masonry on November 12th from 3PM-9PM at 638 Tillery St. for a living art event unlike anything else at EAST! This family-friendly gathering will have live music, food+drinks, live art, community drum circles, interactive exhibitions, and informative art displays to help bring awareness to our city’s natural resources. Visit treegarden.org to learn more and RSVP.
